Crescent Moon Creek Walk is a paid park located in Sedona, Arizona. Inside the park you will find Cathedral Rock, one of the most photographed scenes in the Sedona area. Walking paths lead you to Oak Creek and Buddha beach where you will find thousands of stacked rocks left by visitors. When I first saw the rocks I thought they held a spiritual meaning. I later read that the rock formations, called Cairns, were originally used as trail markers. Many Sedona residents see the man-made formations as a disruption of the natural environment.
Whether you see the rocks as art or an eyesore, I was personally wonderstruck! It's a definite must see. Since I usually travel alone I found the park to be a relaxing drive from Phoenix and an easy exploration with abundant paths.
Along the pathway you will find an old shed that was left from the 1930's where you can capture the shed with Cathedral Rock in the background.
