September, 2018 was the annual Dodge truck cruise in Cripple Creek, Co.
Traveling westward again for vacation is something we look forward to all year. This September we spent two days driving from Indiana to Colorado with the '70 Dodge truck in tow. The annual truck meet was held in Cripple Creek, Co. The old mining town was booming in its day and continues life as a fun-filled mecca of shops and casinos. We enjoyed nightly cruising on the main drag and the old trucks caused quite a stir with Dodge fans of all ages.
On Saturday we cruised from Cripple Creek to Victor (approx 50 miles total). The scenery was beautiful. There's nothing like Colorado in the fall. Along the way we stopped in various locations so I could photograph the trucks for the 2019 calendar. (The calendars are now finished. Read more here about how to purchase).
The majority of us spent the weekend at the Hospitality House. In the early 1900's it was used as the county hospital. Reported by many town folk as being haunted, we fortunately did not experience any ghostly visits, although I will admit to sleeping with one eye open most of the weekend.
If you enjoy Victorian buildings with history the Hospitality House is the place for you. The staff was super friendly and they went out of their way to accommodate our large group of travelers.
